Exercising for Fun

Exercising is planned purposeful activity with the intention to condition the body. But right now, exercising is getting harder and harder. Some of you are over a month deep into quarantine. You’ve now succumbed to laziness. You saw opportunity with all this free time, but if you’re like me the mental space has turned to mush. You’re getting into a routine of TikTok and memes. Oh, is it just me?

Anyways, I wanted to share how I’ve been able to stay active. It’s simple. I have been running everyday followed by some exercises. I make it fun by listening to music or podcasts. My favorite podcast of all time is Mindpump. I recommend listening to their podcasts if you want to know some truths about fitness. The only structured part about my routine is that I start it, and then I do whatever my body feels like doing. Sometimes I have the intention to run 5 miles, instead I’ll do my 5 miles with a 100 breaks. The breaks are awesome because I can enjoy nature and destress. Then, I’ll do push ups or pull ups or walks after I find myself not moving for an hour or two. I don’t allow myself to feel guilty about not accomplishing my fitness goals or whatever. I approach exercise as a stress reliever and as a way to get outside. Find what makes exercise fun. It shouldn’t be a grueling experience. It should be an outlet, a fun process. Comment some ways you’re keeping exercise fun!
